I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m M. Marie Knapp, a writer and artist based in Kentucky. This is where I share my artwork, books, and the projects taking shape at my writing desk and in my studio. Whether you came to see an illustration, learn about a book, or get to know the person behind the work, welcome.

A Little About Me

I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. I've written stories, poems, and journaled since a child. I've won two editors choice awards for poetry, written songs I would sing to my kids which they still request in adulthood.

 I graduated from the Academy of Art University, The Writers Institute, Institute for Childrens Literature, and have continued studying illustration, writing, surface pattern design, photography, and other creative fields.

My work moves between pictures and words. Some days I’m drawing wildlife or developing a pattern collection. Other days I’m illustrating a children’s book or writing the next chapter of my own. I love following an idea to see where it leads, especially when it becomes something I can share with someone else.

I’m still curious about what I’ll create next.

You can explore my writings and artwork in a slow way. My shop brings a way to own an original piece of art, a print, or other merchandise with my creations.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Favorite place to read: Curled up on the couch, in bed, or on the porch with a comfy blanket.

Favorite mediums: Pencil, watercolor, acrylic, and digital illustration.

Favorite Genre's: Christian, love stories, and fantasy. 

Favorite inspiration: Nature, animals, movies, and old books.

Drink of choice: Water, hot cocoa, rooibos tea, and the occasional sprite.

Studio assistant: River, my chocolate Labrador.
